SAVINGS GROUPS

The program participants, who are mostly women, also learn leadership skills and self-empowerment, as well as the practical aspects of managing their family or business budget. This training helps them to increase their family income, face challenges and discover more opportunites in life.

Since 2012 Aanglidesh has organized savings group in different parts of Honduras, nowadays Aanglidesh has organized more than 60 savings groups including communities in El Paraiso: Yuscaran, Las Crucitas, Lainez, El Chaguite, Los Tablones, El Cordoncillo, Danli, Santa Maria, Montañuela and El Teñidero; in Copan: Gotas de Sangre, Santa Rita, Carrizalito, La Laguna and La Castellona; in Francisco Morazan: Col. Villanueva, El Reventon and Rincon de Dolores

The Savings Group Program creates self-managed savings groups in vulnerable communities. These groups are taught, through classes and practical experience, how to manage their money themselves in a responsible way. Their classes include topics, such as savings, interest, loans and personal financial goals.
